The Anangpuria School of Pharmaceutical Sciences marked Epilepsy Day on February 10, 2025, with the objective of creating awareness about epilepsy—its causes, symptoms, treatment options, and the social stigma surrounding it. The day featured a thought-provoking guest lecture and a lively oral presentation competition, both of which witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and faculty members alike.
Guest Lecture on Epilepsy Awareness
The highlight of the event was a guest talk delivered by Dr. Himanshu Arora, Director of Neurosurgery and Spine, Metro Hospital, Faridabad. The session took place in the Seminar Hall from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM and was highly interactive and informative. Dr. Arora provided an in-depth understanding of epilepsy, covering topics such as different types of seizures, underlying neurological causes, available treatment options, and the challenges posed by public misconceptions.
He also emphasized the importance of early diagnosis, medication adherence, lifestyle modifications, and the role of neurosurgical advancements in managing epilepsy. Students actively participated, asking questions and sharing perspectives, making it a truly engaging experience.
Oral Presentation Competition
Following the guest lecture, an oral presentation competition on Epilepsy Awareness was held in Room No. 311. The competition encouraged students to research and share their knowledge on various aspects of epilepsy. Presentations covered a wide range of topics—from the pathophysiology of epilepsy to innovative treatment strategies and myth-busting social misconceptions.
The participants showcased strong research skills, effective communication, and a passion for healthcare advocacy. Ms. Sakshi Kumari, a student of B. Pharmacy 3rd Semester, was declared the Best Oral Presenter for her outstanding delivery, clarity of concepts, and confident presentation style.
