17 AugOrientation Programme Report
Starting a professional carrier can cause much anxiety in the hearts of new college students because of all the unknowns–”What should my major be? Will I make any friends? How will I find all of my classes? Whom do I ask if I have a question?” New student orientation programs are designed to guide students in answering all of these questions. Prior to the beginning of classes, students are given an overview of the complete realm of college life, from academics to social activities, through a period of hours referred to as orientation day. The second aspect of the role of orientation is acclimatizing students to their new environment. After moving into a new neighborhood, one would ideally like a few days to learn one’s way around the new neighborhood. Likewise, orientation should allow students to get their bearings in their new home. For some students, going to college is their first time away from home, so orientation should give them time to become familiar with their new surroundings. So, an Orientation Programme for the new members of the family was organized by B.S. Anangpuria Institute of Pharmacy 16th of August, 2017. The programme was inaugurated by Honourable Principal Dr. Roop K Khar with an auspicious act of lighting the lamp accompanied by Maa Saraswati Vandana. A warm welcome was extended to all the outside dignitaries and guests Dr. S.L. Nasa, Registrar Delhi Pharmacy Council and Dr. I.K. Kilam, Dean Students Welfare, Manav Rachna International University by respectable Head of the Department Dr. Shiv Kumar Yadav. The programme was conducted by joint efforts of the team members and students were given a chance to interact with their mentors. During the mentor-mentee interaction session, faculty members acquainted the students with the learning methodologies, the syllabi for the course and with the various rules & regulations they are required to abide by. The students were also given a chance to introduce themselves so as to familiarise them with each other. The programme was concluded with the vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Shiv Kumar Yadav.
